2010 Testimonials

So I thought I'd catch up by posting some recent kind comments sent to me by this past season's couples.

Amy sent me this thoughtful email after she'd been looking through some recent weddings.

"I just browsed through your recent wedding photos, and I must say that you've found your calling! You capture the essence of each wedding with ease and it is always so nice to see what you've done lately."

Kelly and Jesse mailed me a wonderful thank you card. I've share some it below...

"Melissa, thank you so much for photographing our wedding. The pictures are so beautiful and really capture the essence of our ceremony. We will always remember everything we were feeling that day when we look at them! Kelly & Jesse"

Robin sent me this quick note after seeing the sneak peek from her wedding.

"Thanks for sending, the pictures look great. Thank you for documenting our big day! And for sending some right away, we´ve been dying to see them. I also want to mention that I really appreciated your subtlety. Aubrey and I were just saying how we didn´t see you at all during the ceremony, but yet there are all these great shots. It was just perfect, and we´re both very happy."

I have a few more to post over the next few days...

More wonderful emails!

I was so pleased to received these emails from Sara & Kirk's family recently. I had the pleasure of photographing their wedding just about two weeks ago (you can see the pictures here, here and here)

Hi Melissa,

Sara is my niece and so I was lucky to attend the wedding and I wanted you to know how absolutely lovely your pictures are. You captured so many moments – in all of their beauty and simplicity and seriousness and fun! Everything about the photos – from the light, to the composition to the unexpected angles – seems so remarkably in touch with the spirit of the wedding. (I especially love the photos of Sara and Kirk under the ridge – the rain did not seem to intrude about your work!) I have not talked to Sara since the wedding, but I am so certain that she and Kirk will be delighted, and we will all enjoy the photos for many years to come.

Lisa

and

Dear Melissa,

Thank you for doing such a terrific job photographing Sara and Kirk's wedding. We loved the "sneak peak" pictures on your blog. You certainly have a talent for "capturing the moment" and each of your pictures is unique and beautiful. I am so impressed with how well you captured expressions and interactions. Since you didn't really know the guests or their relationships to Sara and Kirk, it was amazing that you were able to snap such meaningful pictures.

In reflecting on my own wedding thirty years ago, I clearly remember the dominant presence of our photographer. We had constant requests to pose for photos and as someone who is camera shy, I found that pretty stressful. It was so nice that you were unobtrusive and not at all demanding.

Sara and Kirk told me that you were great to work with -- very professional and always prompt with replies to their questions. Planning a wedding can be so challenging because you have to deal with so many people (florist, caterer, musicians etc) and their unique ways of handling things. Somehow, you were able to inspire Sara and Kirk's confidence in your abilities and in your business and you put their minds at ease.

Thanks again for all you did to help preserve the memories of our daughter's wedding. We can't wait to see the rest of the pictures. Best wishes for continued success in your photography business!

Sincerely,
Marilyn (and Keith!)(Sara's parents)

Another wonderful email...

Sometimes I forget how incredibly lucky I am to do what I do. Then I receive an email like this one from Nora and Chris about their wedding pictures.

Thank you Nora & Chris for asking me to be a part of your wedding day.

"Hi Melissa,

The DVDs arrived safely on Friday - thank you so much! Chris and I
sat down together over the weekend to look through them, and were
simply blown away. Your pictures tell the story of our wedding day so
beautifully - you captured all our favorite moments, plus countless
others that we didn't fully register on the actual day. Thank you
again! And if you ever need a reference, we'd be more than happy to
sing your praises.

All the best,
Nora and Chris

Thanks

Every once in a while I get an email that really lifts my spirits. This happened again this weekend when Abby (Nora's mom - see below to meet Nora and Chris) sent me this wonderful email.

When Nora told us she wanted a wedding photographer, we were skeptical. We got married in 1976 at my parents house in South Royalton , in a decidedly casual home wedding. I think one of our friends took photos and we have maybe 10 remaining that we can put our hands on. So, in typical “1970’s fashion”, we told Nora that we didn’t think it was that important to have professional photographs of one’s wedding. Well, she is of this generation, where weddings are bigger productions and she insisted that she would have and hire a photographer.

Somehow she found you. I think she lucked out. You were wonderful, completely non-intrusive and hard working. Then, to see the photos on your blog, was a confirmation of her choice and your work. I’ve looked at them multiple times and am so appreciative of your photographs and Nora’s decision to have her wedding professionally documented.

Thanks again for your excellent eye and great work ethic.

Abby (Nora’s Mom)

Really I should thank Nora and Chris and their friends and family for inviting me to share in their day.

Thank you Heather and Donnell

I recently received this note from Heather and Donnell.

"Melissa,

Thank you for coming all the way from Vermont to be there for us. We both felt like every time something happened that we would want recorded you were right there. Looking at the few pictures you have posted we can't wait until the rest are ready. If we ever have a need for a photographer we hope you're available.

Thanks,

Heather & Donnell"

It was truly my pleasure! Best wishes to you both.
